No matter how much success comes her way, Miranda Lambert will never forget the place that raised her up and the people that paved the way for her dreams to come true.

Growing up with Texas love flowing through her veins, Lambert knew country music could come natural to her because the stories she heard on the radio resembled her small-town living. The simplicity inspired her sound and she stays forever grateful for its support throughout her rise to the top.

“We lived in the country and in a rural area,” the singer said in an interview with the Cleveland Scene. “I got a love for the rural life from day one. I had a great childhood. It was a small town — a ‘Friday Night Lights’ type of thing. The whole East Texas scene was different from anything else. Texas always had its own thing. It’s a great place to start because you have a different platform.”

Not only did her hometown give her the gumption she needed to write down authentic songs, but Lambert also honors the women before her time that made it possible for people like her to become singers in the country music genre. The Texas native hopes to do the same with her own career, using her platform to inspire the next generation coming right behind her.

“It’s really about how I am thankful to have the torch and how all these amazing women have blazed the trail for me,” Lambert explained. “I want to keep that going and kick the door open for other women.”

Currently, Lambert is out on the Livin’ Like Hippies for the spring before heading out on the road with Little Big Town this summer for The Bandwagon Tour. Dates and tickets can be found by fan on her official website.
