Life might be ‘ruff’ sometimes for Miranda Lambert, but her day was made when she got to play around with some adorable pups during a recent interview.

As the founder of MuttNation Foundation and a dog mom herself, Lambert chooses any opportunity to support all of the rescue and foster pooches she can. During CMA Fest, she and hundreds of participants crossed the famous Pedestrian Bridge in Nashville to raise awareness for the cause of saving shelter pets all across the country.

Taking a quick break from the action, the country singer sat down to chat with Buzzfeed for a bit when she got surprised with a few sweet interview helpers that just so happened to be tiny rescue dogs. While cuddling and keeping the pups company, Lambert revealed some secrets about herself and pawed her way through the questions.

The country singer admitted Beyoncé was her dream collaboration outside of country music and that she was a private fan of Audioslave’s music before explaining how her last project, The Weight of These Wings, really developed her songwriting and took her creative process to the next level.

“I don’t have a favorite song or album because they’re all my babies. They’re like my dogs. But I really enjoyed the process of this last record I did called The Weight of These Wings because I took my time on it and I spent over a year writing for it and I really got to explore my songwriting in a different way than I ever have before,” Lambert said honestly.

Lambert also participated in a game of ‘Never Have I Ever’ featuring other country stars, in which they all spilled some rather juicy details about their pasts. While Brooke Eden and Phil Vassar admitted to using fake I.D.s when they were younger, Dierks Bentley fully disclosed that his entire first record involved writing about an ex that did him wrong in the end.

Check out even more of what Lambert had to say in the videos and be sure to listen to her latest single, “Tin Man,” now.
