Miranda Lambert & Kellie Pickler’s Weight Loss Secrets

It’s that time of year again…time to make those New Year’s Resolutions! Starting tomorrow millions of Americans (including myself) will vow to eat healthier and workout in order to shed some pounds in the new year. For me, it always seems to help to know others’ slim down secrets to get motivated…so I took a look at two of country music’s hottest blondes, Miranda Lambert and Kellie Pickler.

(Miranda Lambert: January 2010, December 2010)

Lambert, who is down to a size six, credits her personal trainer for helping her reach her weight loss goals.

“My trainer's been kicking my butt,” she said. “It's not so much losing weight as toning up, getting rid of the jiggles and wiggles.”

“I had to have all my clothes taken in,” she continued. “So I'm really excited about that.”

In addition to working out with a trainer Lambert also watched what she ate.

“Now instead of Cheetos, I choose almonds,” she tells Us Weekly. “No mayonnaise, no potatoes or bread … really just vegetables and meat.”

She also says that her diet mainly consists of oatmeal, vegetables and turkey.

Miranda has a great reason to slim down as she plans to wed Blake Shelton this spring.

(Kellie Pickler: June 2010, November 2010)

Kellie Pickler also has plans to walk down the aisle soon. She slimmed down in 2010 after seeing herself on TV, but it wasn’t by working out at the gym. So, what’s her secret? No more junk food!

“I was looking back at the CMT Awards,” Kellie said. “My grandpa was in there on the couch, and I guess they were re-airing it on CMT. He had it on, and I went 'oh s***, I have got to step away from the beer. The beer and the fries – I've gotta quit.' You'll see pictures of yourself, or you'll put your clothes on, and you'll be like 'oh, my pants are too tight, I can't breathe.' You notice it. I've gotta start cutting back.”

“I really don't workout,” she admits. “I'm not an avid gym person. I mean, you can tell. I go through stages – like I'll be good for a short time, and then I let myself go. Then, I try and pick up where I left off and get back in the gym. It's just a lose-lose situation for me.”

Do any of you plan to lose weight in 2011? Will you be working out like Miranda or cutting out the junk food like Kellie? Either way, good luck!
