Miranda Lambert Shows Her Sassy Side with ‘Pink Sunglasses’ at CMT Awards
Lambert shined brighter than the summer sun as she playfully paraded along to the tune’s cheeky lyrics and let the neon lights behind her glow in time with the laidback beat of the music.
Wind in her hair and no worries in the world, Miranda Lambert shaded any bit of doubt away with her feisty performance of “Pink Sunglasses” at the 2017 CMT Music Awards.
Rocking along nonchalantly as the crowd rocked out in their cheap sunnies to represent the chilled-out track in real time. Lambert shined brighter than the summer sun as she playfully paraded along to the tune’s cheeky lyrics and let the neon lights behind her glow in time with the laid-back beat of the music.
While in rehearsal for the performance earlier this week, Lambert just wanted her time on stage to feel just as calm and comfortable like that of the warmer months ahead. Knowing that the fans would love to hear something new from the country singer, she honored them by picking “Pink Sunglasses” off the shelf of her music catalogue.
“I’m doing something fun this time,” she said to CMT during rehearsals. “I’ve been doing ‘Pink Sunglasses’ on the road and we’ve been lovin’ it. So, it felt like summer and festive and perfect for CMA week and … They’ve handed out like a thousand pairs of pink sunglasses [for the performance] so I’m excited.”
Lambert is looking good tonight with nominations in the Female Video of the Year and Video of the Year categories for her work in “Vice.”
The 2017 CMT Music Awards is airing live from downtown Nashville on CMT.
