Miranda Lambert proves a minimalistic approach to a gut-wrenching song such as her current hit, “Tin Man,” makes for a beautifully raw acoustic video in her new look of the song.

Stripping away all distractions from the studio-made beat and shining bright lights, fans see Lambert resting delicately along an unvarnished bathroom floor with only a guitar to keep her company amongst the silence. Shot in a lightened black-and-white scheme to rid of any refined notions, it’s just the country singer dismantling her deepest insecurities that intertwine their way into the vulnerable lyrics.

The echoed strumming of the acoustics haunt the hollow room as Lambert truly sits alone to radiate the emotional gravity of “Tin Man.” Reflecting on the harsh reality that love shatters the strings holding everything together within one’s beating heart, Lambert simplistically pleads with the fictional Wizard of Oz character that he indeed should stay away from any internal feelings plagued over the desire to have such tenderness (or lack thereof) within.

Therapeutically enough, Lambert coos away the sorrows in this eerily calming rendition of the track off of her 2016 two-disc project, The Weight of These Wings. Featured on the second disc referred to as ‘The Heart,’ Lambert deeply connected to the lyric after facing some heartbreaking tolls in her life throughout the years and channeled it by way of relatability for all listeners.

“I guess, going through a lot of times where I felt empty, I understood a whole new meaning, I mean, how many times have we seen The Wizard Of Oz, but it’s something that world shares…everyone knows what the Tin Man represents–cold, and empty, and loneliness, and heartless…and it just opened my eyes to it even more going through pain myself, you know, sort of an epiphany,” she said about the song.
