Montgomery Gentry Performs for 8,000 at Recent USO Concert

Legendary country music duo and USO tour veterans Montgomery Gentry delivered a foot-stomping USO concert at Louisville, Kentucky’s KFC Yum! Center on July 26. The concert coincided with the National Guard’s National Volunteer Workshop and Youth Symposium, which began on July 25, and honored troops, military families and volunteers who support them.

The show was free and open to active-duty National Guard and Reservists, their families, National Volunteer Workshop and Youth Symposium attendees, as well as military ID holders and local area veterans, the ‘Home Front’ USO concert was a joint effort by the Kentucky National Guard and the USO. More than 8,000 troops, military families and supporters attended the exclusive USO concert. In addition, the concert was broadcast LIVE to deployed troops around the world on the Pentagon Channel.

Avid supporters of troops and their families, Montgomery Gentry have performed more than 20 USO concerts in locations such as, Nevada, South Korea, Okinawa, Iraq, Germany and Kuwait.

“Troy and I both grew up in Kentucky and being able to put on a USO concert here at home is such an honor, and something that we will never forget,” said Eddie Montgomery. We’ve performed around the world for troops but there is nothing better than coming home and celebrating with our heroes who defend our country. “

The duo performed their new single, “Where I Come From,” and gave the military crowd a sneak peak at other cuts from their upcoming album, which will hit stores in October.
