The road can be very exasperating at times, and nobody knows this fact any better than Eddie Montgomery of the hit duo Montgomery Gentry. Saturday night, the Grand Ole Opry members were playing a concert date in Garnett, Kansas, and Montgomery passed out on stage – spurring rumors that the singer experienced a heart attack.

As it turned out (thankfully), the singer was only suffering from dehydration. Medical teams, who were on the scene quickly, helped Montgomery to his feet and off of the stage. Still, the duo took to Twitter to let their legion of fans know that everything was ok.

“There are false reports floating around that Eddie had a heart attack last night. NOT TRUE,” tweeted Montgomery Gentry’s official account. “He was dehydrated and returned to the stage.”

This is not the first time that Montgomery’s health has been a concern. In 2010, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, undergoing successful surgery for the disease in December of that year.

Montgomery Gentry – consisting of Eddie and Troy Gentry – broke onto the Country Music scene in 1999 with “Hillbilly Shoes,” and have since added such hits as “Hell Yeah,” “She Couldn’t Change Me,” and “My Town” to their résumé. They were selected as the CMA Vocal Duo of the Year in 2000, and became members of the Opry in 2009. Their next concert date is September 29 in Lawrenceburg, TN.
