Cheers! Morgan Evans Announces Debut Album Things That We Drink To
Evans' wife Kelsea Ballerini is featured on a song!
Morgan Evans is celebrating his recent No.1 single “Kiss Somebody” by revealing plans for his debut full-length album, Things That We Drink To. Set for release on October 12, the project features 11 songs, all co-written by the singer, that share his journey from leaving Australia to present day.
“My album is a collection of songs that I wrote over the last two years,” said Evans in a press release. “It’s my story. It’s leaving behind everything and everyone you know to chase down a country music dream on the other side of the world. It’s the excitement of the unknown, it’s the fun, it’s the loneliness and it’s the struggle. It’s losing someone and finding the strength to keep your head up and make them proud. It’s meeting a girl, falling hopelessly and marrying the love of your life. It’s the ‘Things That We Drink To.'”
In addition to co-writing every track with producer Chris DeStefano, the two contributed to every instrument featured on the project, highlighting their endless talents.
Evans previously shared details about the record with Sounds Like Nashville, revealing his two favorite tracks are “Dance With Me” and “Things That We Drink To.”
“I think the ones that I like better as a songwriter are the ones that feel like gifts,” he shared. “I grew up writing songs on the other side of the world by myself and just waiting for that inspiration moment, and that’s such a rare thing,” he adding, nothing that both were written quickly. “They’re just like gifts and they feel so honest and pure for that reason. Hopefully people will hear them in that way.”
