Morgan Evans may technically be new to the American country genre, but he’s proved that he wants to stick around for the long run with his debut single, “Kiss Somebody.”

The Australian-born singer-songwriter channels the likes of his fellow Aussie country artist Keith Urban with this lighthearted yet romantic ode. Creating butterflies with a spontaneously sweet lyric that could make any listener smile, Evans portrays the sparks that fly when a new love blooms. Laying it all on the simplicity of a kiss, he uses the fusion of pop, country and rock to give off the jitters of falling for someone new.

Although Evans has found love right in the heart of Nashville, he never knew he’d follow his passion to Music City. Nevertheless, the country newcomer demonstrates promise within his loving lyrics and laidback spirit heard throughout the track.

Inspired by his own personal relationship as well as the journey he stuck himself on to follow a dream of his, Evans connects to “Kiss Somebody” in a multitude of aspects and hopes for fans to hear the same emotions he does in the song.

“When I sing about throwing yourself into love ‘like your heart ain’t ever been broke’ in my first U.S. single “Kiss Somebody,” they’re not just words from an inventive day in a songwriting session. They’re straight out of my life experiences, trying to meet every tough decision head on with determination and positivity. And no decision was tougher than letting go of everything I knew in Australia to live halfway across the world in Nashville in order to chase a dream – without my family, without my friends and without any concrete guarantees about what might, or might not, be around the corner,” he penned in a recent note to fans about the single.

Evans’ year has become a career-defining one, to say the least. He officially signed a record deal with Warner Music Nashville and has been working on music for his debut American album, which has yet to confirm a release date. He also will take the plunge in her personal life by marrying fiancée and fellow country artist, Kelsea Ballerini, in the next coming months.
