Morgan Evans is new to the U.S. country scene and already making a splash for his unique style of performing. The Australian-born singer not only uses a loop pedal when he sings onstage, but is also giving fans a uniquely shot video for his single “Kiss Somebody.” Directed by Jeff Venable, the clip was nearly all filmed in a single shot, and is played in extreme slow motion.

Beginning with a clip of a young couple leaving their date, the two chit chat awkwardly with the girl clearly hoping for her special someone to lean in for a kiss. The boy gets nervous, missing his opportunity and goes in for a hug instead. As they go their separate ways, he instantly regrets his decision and makes his way back to her for their first kiss. His trek doesn’t go without a few snafus, however, as he runs over a waitress and delivery man, sending food and packages flying. Evans, posing as a florist, comes in clutch as he shoots over a bouquet of flowers to the boy on the run. A knock-out punch to a robber is thrown and an epic car hood slide ensues before he finally makes it back to his date for the chance to lock lips.

Evans co-wrote the track after reflecting on the heartbreak a dear friend was going through. After going through a terrible break-up and wallowing for months, Evans encouraged him to get back out there and try his luck with someone new.

“It reminded me of a story that I’d just been telling on the weekend of this guy I used to stay with before I moved to Nashville. And I used to stay with him instead of staying at a hotel. And he had this girl, and I got to know them both, and they broke up, and he was completely heartbroken. And I was there with him through that time for a few weeks. I went back to Australia, came back a year and a half later, and he’s still heartbroken over this girl. And I was like, dude, you need to kiss somebody,” Evans explained to Sounds Like Nashville and other media previously.

Morgan Evans, who was named one of Sounds Like Nashville’s 13 New Country Artists to Watch in 2018, will hit the road with Chris Young in the new year as part of the Losing Sleep 2018 World Tour. Evans will join the tour as an opening act during the April-May run.
