CMT’s Nashville will get a waxy makeover when Rayna James and Deacon Claybourne are transformed into Madame Tussauds was figures for the iconic attraction’s new Nashville location. The inclusion of the two characters is something that the attraction felt would make a great addition to the already star-studded lineup slated to be featured in the forthcoming attraction.

“The show ‘Nashville’ has made a profound impact on the popularity of Music City and we couldn’t imagine having a Madame Tussauds in Nashville without Rayna Jaymes and Deacon Claybourne,” said JP Dansereau, General Manager, Madame Tussauds Nashville. “We’ve recently been able to announce some spectacular music icons slated to appear in our attraction. Having Deacon and Rayna included, specifically positioned with the famous Bluebird Café as a backdrop, is extra special for us. We can’t wait for ‘Nashville’ fans from across the world to experience their favorite stars up close and personal.”

The actors that bring those characters to life, Charles Esten and Connie Britton, were equally as excited for their characters to take a place alongside some of music’s biggest names within the new Madame Tussauds location.

“I’ve been to the Madame Tussauds in London and it was a great great memory. The figures just amazed us, each one. You can see why it draws millions of people every single year,” said Esten. “To think that somebody will have a photograph sitting next to Deacon Claybourne and Rayna Jaymes—it’s surreal.”

The Nashville stars will be featured on a bench in front of a replica of the Bluebird Café so fans have the chance to sit down and pose with the characters. Rayna will be dressed in an outfit, donated from the show, that she wore in season three during a performance on Good Morning America. Deacon will also be outfitted in clothing from the show, along with a replica of his Martin D-28 Marquis Sunburst guitar.

Both Esten and Britton recently sat with studio artists in the Madame Tussauds Nashville studio, where research teams took more than 300 measurements to ensure total likeness (see more in the video above).

The new experience will be the first Madame Tussauds to be a themed location, with music as the forefront. The wax attraction will featured the previously announced figures of Carrie Underwood, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Minnie Pearl, Johnny Cash, Keith Urban and Little Jimmy Dickens, among others.
