The truth has finally been spoken: Shania Twain found inspiration for her smash hit, “That Don’t Impress Me Much” thanks to a couple nude photos of actor Brad Pitt.

Back in the 90s (and even today, for a lot of people), Pitt was a hot commodity that everyone wanted to see out and about. Known for his effortlessly gorgeous looks and well-toned physique, he definitely evolved into the heartthrob of the decade that spanned across magazines galore.

Twain, on the other hand, caught a glimpse of some rather risqué pictures from a scandal Pitt fell into and she wasn’t quite feeling the universal attraction many women had to Pitt at the time.

“I remember I had a girlfriend visiting me and it was near Christmas and we were baking cookies,” Twain said recently to Billboard. “I was writing this album and there was a scandal of [Pitt] and Gwyneth [Paltrow] where there was naked photos of him. And this was like, all the rage. I just thought, ‘I don’t know what all the fuss is about.’ I’m like, well that don’t impress me much, I mean what is all the fuss?”

Although some listeners assumed the dig was a stab directly toward Pitt as a person, Twain brushed off any hate by stating the facts and claiming that seeing someone like him naked was just another day in the life.

“We see people naked every day,” explained Twain of the backstory. “That’s really what I thought. I wasn’t picking on Brad Pitt. But that was just the association in that moment and things we make fusses about and whatever.”

Thankfully, not many Twain fans cared about the dig toward Pitt; in fact, they embraced it wholeheartedly in accordance to the song’s message about keeping the standards high while looking for “the one.”

Twain currently continues to promote her anticipated album, NOW, which will hit shelves on September 29.
