Fans get a glimpse at life on the road with Old Dominion in the band’s new “Written in the Sand” music video. Full of behind-the-scenes clips from backstage shenanigans to on the road high-jinks, the video gives insight into what the five-piece band does on a day-to-day basis while on tour.

The three-minute clip begins with lead singer Matthew Ramsey looking out into an empty arena during soundcheck, which comes full circle as the video closes to him performing for the packed crowd. Ramsey isn’t alone in the clip as his bandmates, Trevor Rosen, Whit Sellers, Geoff Sprung, and Brad Tursi, each get their moments in the clip, with shots of them surfing, taking photos and performing with Thomas Rhett and Kenny Chesney.

“Written in the Sand” is the second single from Old Dominion’s sophomore record, Happy Endings. The track is one they felt could resonate with a wide range of fans, who may relate to lyrics like “Are we last-call kissing or will we be reminiscing with each other for the next forty years? / Are we written in the stars, baby, or are we written in the sand?”

“[‘Written In The Sand’] comes from a place that I think a lot of people can identify with… Is your relationship, you know, built to last or is it something that’s just kinda a passing thing? And it’s a hard place to be at in a relationship. I think that’s why this song is gonna speak to a lot of people,” said Ramsey.

Old Dominion will take the track out on the road, as well as their recent No.1 “No Such Thing As A Broken Heart,” when they embark on their headlining Happy Endings World Tour. The band will crisscross the nation from February through March before joining up with Kenny Chesney as a special guest on his 2018 Trip Around the Sun Tour in April.
