“They listen to it constantly, it’s like they listen to it when they go to sleep, and when we’re in the car," OD's Matt Ramsey shares.

When Old Dominion decided to mention their kids in their latest single, it only encouraged their little ones to root for their dads even more.

Although the track, “No Such Thing as a Broken Heart,” discusses a variety of difficult topics, including talking to their loved ones about the mania going on in the world, lead singer Matt Ramsey admits that his children only looked at the lyric with inspiration and optimism. Rather than shy away from enjoying their parents’ sound, the kids of Old Dominion are fans of the band on radio just as much as when they come home to see the family.

“They listen to it constantly, it’s like they listen to it when they go to sleep, and when we’re in the car. They want to hear what’s new, they want to hear the new songs we’re writing, and what we’re recording. They have input on what we record, they want to hear this one, or that one, they’re like ‘Oh you didn’t…that one didn’t make the album? Oh, I love that song.’ So, they’re very invested, and they’re my biggest fans for sure,” shares Ramsey.

As dedicated listeners of Old Dominion, the kids probably even get to listen to some of the first cuts of the upcoming record from the group. While they may be rather candid in their critiques or comments of the new sound, there’s no doubt the children still support their parents through it all.

Old Dominion’s “No Such Thing as a Broken Heart” is playing on country radio now. The band’s much anticipated new album, Happy Endings, hits shelves August 25.
