Ones To Watch: Women In Country Edition

AT&T U-verse is bringing country music fans closer to the music than ever before with Country Deep, a TV app and online platform that allows users to watch music videos, behind-the-scenes footage, exclusive interviews, and much more.

Country Deep is celebrating the women of the country music genre by highlighting rising females and leading ladies with a new Women In Country campaign. We’re joining in on the fun by calling out “ones to watch,” so we’ve selected five of our favorite up-and-coming female stars in this post. Check it out!

Maddie-and-Tae

This duo has taken the country music world by storm with their oh-so-catchy debut hit, “Girl In A Country Song.” The tune pokes fun at the female stereotypes that “bro-country” has brought to light in recent years. The song is already Top 5 at country radio and certified GOLD by the RIAA for sales exceeding 500,000 digital downloads. Maddie & Tae, who is now the fastest rising female act in eight years, have definitely made a positive stamp on country music already.

Raelynn

Fans were first introduced to this spunky Texas native on season two of “The Voice,” and now, we finally have a debut single from her! RaeLynn’s “God Made Girls” is at country radio now, and just made its way into the Top 20. With a strong backing from country music’s king and queen, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, RaeLynn has a promising career ahead of her.

Kelleigh Bannen

EMI Nashville’s Kelleigh Bannen recently released her latest single, “Smoke When I Drink,” to country radio. The track follows previous releases such as “Famous,” “Sorry on the Rocks,” and “You Are What You Love.” Fans can catch the Tennessee native on tour with Cole Swindell this fall.

Kelsea Ballerini

You may not have heard of her yet, but you will soon! Kelsea Ballerini is making waves with her debut single, “Love Me Like You Mean It.” The track is the first release from her self-titled EP, which is out today. Be sure to check her out!

Jamie Lynn Spears

She won over our hearts with her debut single, “How Could I Want More” late last year. Since then, Jamie Lynn has been on the road opening for superstars such as Alan Jackson and Alabama. She also made her debut at the Grand Ole Opry and drew an enormous crowd at CMA Fest in Nashville last June. We’re anxious for more new music from Jamie Lynn – she’s proven to have a true passion for traditional country music and we can’t wait to see what’s next for her!
