Performers and Presenters for 2016 CMT Artists of the Year Revealed

Meghan Trainor and Karen Fairchild are among the performers confirmed for the upcoming 2016 CMT Artists of the Year special.

The 2016 CMT Artists of the Year is stacking up to be a big one! Along with star-studded appearances from honorees Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, Luke Bryan, Kelsea Ballerini and Shania Twain, several other big stars will take the stage.

Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild, Meghan Trainor, Jill Scott and pop star Zara Larsson will pay tribute to the honorees with one-of-a-kind performances. Trainor, Scott and Ballerini will pay tribute to Artist of a Lifetime Award winner Shania Twain while Larsson will join Rhett for a mash-up of “Die A Happy Man” and Larsson’s “Never Forget You.” Fairchild will team up with Bryan for a performance of their No.1 hit “Home Alone Tonight.”

Along with the special performances, Olympic gold medalist gymnasts Aly Raisman and Madison Kocian will join LBT and comedian Arsenio Hall will appear as presenters. Additional performers, presenters, and special guests will be announced soon.

Former CMT Artists of the Year honorees include Jason Aldean (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014), Kenny Chesney (2011, 2012), Eric Church (2012), Lady Antebellum(2010, 2011), Little Big Town (2015), Miranda Lambert (2012, 2014), Tim McGraw (2013), Taylor Swift (2010, 2011), Keith Urban (2014), and Sam Hunt (2015), among others.

The 2016 CMT Artists of the Year special premieres from Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center on Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
