Pictures of ‘Nashville’ Season Five’s Table Reading Released

The Nashville cast is back and ready for action as the production for the fifth season of the drama series recently started up.

Pictures were tweeted by the show’s new network home, CMT, during a table read and show the cast laughing along like they never left. In one snapshot, stars Charles Esten, Chris Carmack and Lennon & Maisy all seem to look like they got the giggles during the reading of a scene. Another photo sneak peeks fans into the script of an upcoming episode titled, “The Wayfaring Stranger,” written by new head writers Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick.

The network also posted a suspenseful shot of both scripts for the characters of Gunnar and Scarlett, hinting to a possible relationship development between the two for the new season.

Not seen in the pictures are cast regulars Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton. It is still unconfirmed whether or not Britton will return for the entire length of season five as she is only signed on for 10 episodes at this point. The network reports that they are still in talks of getting the actress to stay on for the whole season.

Season five of Nashville will premiere January 5 on CMT.
