The Pistol Annies Return to the Recording Studio

At long last, it seems as if new music from the Pistol Annies is on the horizon. The sassy trio, comprised of Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, has been tight-lipped about what they’ve got in the works, but that won’t stop them from teasing fans along the way.

In a black and white snap posted to Instagram, the three women gather for a smiley selfie while teasing “Sangin’ some songs” with the hashtag #staytuned. While the location of the photo is unclear, we can make out recording equipment in the background.

This isn’t the first time the Pistol Annies have set fans wild with their sneaky posts. In January, Lambert shared a photo of her writing room, aka the bathroom, as she worked on new music.

“I sing (and write ….and drink) in the shower. #andsoitbegins#music #maybepistolannies💗 #songstarts #acoustics,” Lambert wrote alongside the post.

They’ve since reunited for a brief set during Lambert’s “Livin’ Like Hippies Tour,” causing speculation for new music to rise.

The power trio of women made their debut during an ACM event in 2011 when they performed the song “Hell On Heels,” causing fans to go into a frenzy. They went on to release two full-length albums to critical acclaim before breaking for a hiatus. Rumblings of the trio’s revival began in 2016 when Lambert and Monroe assured fans that the Pistol Annies would return sometime in the future with new music.

No word yet on when the Pistol Annies will release their secret project.
