At least 50 are confirmed dead and 200 are injured after what has become the deadliest shooting in modern US history.

On Sunday, the suspected gunman, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, fired shots from the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino into the massive crowd at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas. Jason Aldean was on stage at the time gunshots began. Once the crowd realized that gunfire was pouring down on them, chaos ensued as concertgoers fled to take cover.

Monday morning, as authorities updated the death toll, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to offer his thoughts to those affected by the tragedy.

“My warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting. God bless you,” he wrote.

President Trump then arranged a brief press conference to address the horrific incident further, saying that we are all joined together today “in sadness, shock and grief.” Calling the shooting “an act of pure evil,” President Trump thanked Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and all first responders for their courageous efforts.

The president went on to ask that all flags shall be flown at half-staff today to honor the victims and all those affected by the incident. He will travel to Las Vegas on Wednesday (10/4) to meet with Las Vegas officials to discuss the investigation at this time.

Before solemnly leaving the podium, President Trump hoped to find unity and peace, and prays for the day that evil is banished. He sent out thoughts about full and speedy recoveries for all those receiving treatment in the hospital as well.

After the Las Vegas Police Department cleared the area and confirmed that the gunman was down, Aldean took to Instagram to update fans on his well being.

“Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still dont know what to say but wanted to let everyone know that Me and my Crew are safe,” he wrote. “My Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight. It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night.”

**UPDATE: As of 11:30 a.m. CST, there have been at least 58 deaths reported and 515 people injured from the incident.
