Bobby Bones is making history one step at a time in the radio industry by becoming the youngest personality ever to be inducted by the National Radio Hall of Fame.

Nominated among colleagues in the Music Format On-Air Personality category, Bones will join this year’s class receiving the prestigious recognition within the radio community. Bones sets progress for country music forward as well, by being the only one in the running that works within the format.

For the past couple weeks, many of Bones’ biggest supporters within the genre have been vying for his nomination to come forth by campaigning for votes through the ‘Vote Bobby’ t-shirts. Anyone from Dierks Bentley to Little Big Town to Kelsea Ballerini posted their love of the radio host via social media to throw some love his way during the nomination process.

Bones took to his own Instagram profile to post a humbling message to all of his fans for the encouragement throughout his career and thanking them for getting him to this point in his career.

“They announced the Radio Hall of Fame people and I got in. Like, I probably don’t deserve to get in, but without you guys, you guys did all of the work. And I’m sure I’ll have something poignant to say later, or I’ll have the opposite, but I did not expect to see that this early in the morning. Yeah, I’m kinda floored by the whole thing. I’m gonna go to work, but thank you and I’ll have something cool to say maybe or I’ll write something or I don’t even know,” he said in the video post.

The host of The Bobby Bones Show will be added to the Hall of Fame alongside legends like Dick Clark, Larry King, Howard Stern and many more.

The official ceremony for the induction into the National Radio Hall of Fame will be held on Thursday, November 2.
