"I think, for me, it was important not to ruin it or people's perception of a song that has been getting great traction for what we're doing,” he explains.

As a newcomer to the country scene, Raleigh Keegan wanted to do his debut single justice with its accompanying music video, and he does so with the concept for “Lookin’ Like That” where he captures the ideal date night “every girl dreams of.”

“You ain’t going nowhere looking like that, what’s the point of leaving, baby we ain’t even gone and I wanna get back, to take off what you put on, no I can’t wait all night long,” he sings in the chorus, as the video tells the story of a guy who plans a unique date night for his girlfriend, leaving little notes around the house that instruct her on how to prepare. The surprise occasion is not a glamorous night on the town, but rather a dressed-down trip to the art studio where a playful paint fight ensues.

“The people that I’ve shown it [to] have said things like ‘I want my husband to do that’ or ‘I want my girlfriend to do that.’ So I think it enhances the experience for them of the song,” Keegan says about the video, debuting exclusively with Sounds Like Nashville. He sites the paint fight scene as his favorite to shoot, admitting that he was encouraged by the crew to surprise Meghan, the leading lady in the video, with a paint-filled attack before they were scheduled to film the scene. “It’s more fun than it looks. That was my first adult paint fight and I hope it’s not the last,” he laughs.

As his debut music video, Keegan was conscientious in capturing the song in a light that reflects its meaning. “I think there’s a lot of pressure when it comes to music videos because it’s a visual interpretation of the song and it could ruin it or enhance it. I think, for me, it was important not to ruin it or people’s perception of a song that has been getting great traction for what we’re doing,” he explains.

Though an avid songwriter, “Lookin’ Like That” was an outside cut penned by frequent songwriting partners Will Nance, Dan Demay and Adam Wood. It’s featured on his 2018 debut EP, One of These Days.”I heard it the first time and I was like ‘that song’s a hit…this one’s good,” Keegan describes of the track, which is one of the first songs pitched to him as an artist. “I think it fits what I’m trying to do. I love a mixture of old and new country, so when I heard it, I was like ‘this has elements of new country and also old country.’ This is right up my alley.”

“Lookin’ Like That” is currently streaming on Spotify. Keegan is set to perform at the 2018 Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam alongside Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett and Eric Church and more on Aug. 31 in Panama City Beach, Fla.
