Seldom to a couple welcome wedding crashers to their big day, but for Wisconsin couple Brandon and Sara McInnis, the day would not have been the same without them. The McInnises had plans to dance to the Rascal Flatts’ hit, “Bless the Broken Road,” for their first dance as a married couple. Their wedding DJ was in charge of playing the track, until a family friend decided to send an email to Rascal Flatts asking them to pay a visit to the happy couple.

Tammy, who has been a family friend for 15 years, knew that the band was on their way to play at Country USA in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, so she figured it was worth a chance to invite Rascal Flatts to stop by for a quick performance. The band agreed, and since “Bless the Broken Road” was already the soundtrack for Brandon and Sara’s first dance, it worked out perfectly for them to come serenade the couple with their platinum-selling tune.

“We’re getting to play their first dance as husband and wife, and that’s just, I mean, it’s so special to be a part of that,” said lead singer Gary LeVox.

Tammy and Sara’s sister planned everything, and they made sure that the surprise was kept a secret from the bride and groom. When the DJ was supposed to be preparing the song to play, Sara’s sister got up to announce the surprise, which left Sara bent over in tears.

“It’s just kind of a song that explains everything for us… we had been told that there was going to be a surprise, we didn’t know what it was. That was awesome… This is just a blessing. It really is a blessing,” said Brandon.

Rascal Flatts just released their tenth studio album, Back To Us. The band also announced that they will be returning to Las Vegas for a limited residency show, called Rascal Flatts: Night to Shine, this fall.
