Rascal Flatts has been a band for nearly 20 years and has toured just about every year of their long-lasting career. The superstar group has pounded the pavement each and every summer, delivering a solid show for their fans each night.

While many of their country counterparts have already announced plans for summer 2017 tours, the Flatts have held back and reveal that they are working on something a little bit different this time around.

“We have not started putting the shows together but it’s been like that pretty much our entire career. We’ve been banging one after the next after the next after the next, which is incredible and it’s just such a blessing to be that busy and just great for the fans,” said the group’s lead vocalist Gary LeVox. “But this year, what we decided to do is still tour, maybe not as much, but tour differently. So you know, we’ve been in all these A markets for so long, year after year after year, so we’re going to go hit some places that we haven’t hit, you know, some B markets some C markets and go out and just have some intimate things. So we’re just going to tour differently this year.”

While the band may be touring differently, they will likely still take new music out on the road for fans nationwide to enjoy. The group is currently working on the follow-up to 2014’s Rewind and have given listeners a taste of what to expect with the lead single “Yours If You Want It.”

“This first single feels like familiar Flatts and covers that territory of an up tempo song. It really showcases the harmonies, but I’m excited for people to get to dig into this record and listen to some different sides of us. I think they’re going to be pleasantly surprised,” Jay DeMarcus told Sounds Like Nashville recently.

“Gary’s always said, and I think it’s a great statement, ‘No one knows our music better than we do.’ We didn’t have a record label and producers and songwriters writing songs for us when we were starting out in Fiddle & Steel Guitar Bar,” DeMarcus shared. “We found our sound ourselves. At the end of the day, it started with us and it’s back to us now.”

The group was back in the studio this week wrapping up the rest of their 10th studio album. Fans will have to standby for details on their upcoming tour plans.
