One of Rascal Flatts’ biggest hits will soon become a movie.

The trio’s No.1 hit “Bless The Broken Road” is in the process of being written into a faith-based film, directed by Harold Cronk.

According to Deadline.com, the film will be called God Bless the Broken Road. The story will follow a young mother who loses her husband in Afghanistan and struggles to raise their daughter alone. It will combine faith, country music and stock car racing while also paying tribute to those who serve our country.

“I felt it was important to show someone in a crisis of faith in the face of overwhelming loss,” said Cronk, who co-wrote the script with Jennifer Dornbush.

Filming for God Bless the Broken Road will take place in Manistee and Grand Rapids, MI. It is expected to release in late 2016, early 2017.

“Bless The Broken Road” was made famous by Rascal Flatts in 2005 when the song topped the charts and earned songwriters Marcus Hummon, Bobby Boyd and Jeff Hanna a Grammy award for Best Country Song. It was originally recorded and released by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1994.
