Not a day goes by where Reba McEntire doesn’t think about the tragic plane crash that occurred 25 years ago. While time may be a healer, Reba still feels the pain when she thinks about that day.

In March of 1991, a small plane carrying two jet-crew members and eight members of Reba’s entourage suddenly crashed into a mountain near the border of the U.S. and Mexico. The fatal crash left no survivors, with the victims being part of Reba’s band and her manager along with the pilot and co-pilot of the flight.

In honor of the anniversary, Reba took to her Facebook page and wrote a special message regarding the accident and the loved ones connected to the victims.

“Today is the 25th anniversary of the airplane crash. I went back to San Diego Nov of last year and took a helicopter up to the crash site. I feel in my heart that they know we still miss them so much. My love and prayers to all the families and friends,” she wrote in her post, with a black-and-white picture of the November flight attached alongside.

Despite everything, Reba will never forget that day and the friends she lost.
