The Voice brought special guest stars Dolly Parton and Jennifer Nettles to the set on Tuesday night (Nov. 29) to help reveal the remaining eight contestants that will continue on to next week’s semifinal.

Parton and Nettles took the lead to sing “Circle of Love” from Parton’s upcoming Christmas movie, Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, while the top 10 provided vocals in the background. Parton also joined her goddaughter Miley Cyrus, alongside acapella group Penatonix, to deliver a rendition of “Jolene.”

Although the performances were fun, host Carson Daly had some serious business to take care of, sending two contestants home. Team Blake Shelton’s Sundance Head, former country star Billy Gilman and fellow country singer Joshua Gallagher were all saved by America’s vote. Unfortunately, Courtney Harrell and Austin Allsup of Team Shelton found themselves in the bottom three, along with Aaron Gibson, had to sing one more time to vie for fans’ vote in the instant save.

Allsup was first up and took the stage with a soulful cover of Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey.” Harrell followed with another country hit, “Bless the Broken Road,” from Rascal Flatts.

Though both performances were outstanding, they weren’t enough to continue onto the next round. Gibson was saved with his performance of “Don’t Think Twice.”

The Voice Semifinals will begin next Monday (Dec. 5) at 8 PM EST on NBC.
