Monday’s episode of The Voice served as the most important night of competition as the final four contestants took the stage for America’s vote for the last time. In part one of the season 11 finale, Billy Gilman, Josh Gallagher, Sundance Head and We McDonald were enlisted to each sing three separate tunes: an original, a cover and a duet with their coach.

Blake Shelton’s team member Head drew inspiration from his wife to perform his originally written song, “Darlin’ Don’t Go,” followed by a tribute to his father, Roy Head, alongside his coach when they collaborated on “Treat Her Right,” Roy’s hit single that topped the charts in 1965. Sundance’s final performance of the night was a cover of Etta James’ “At Last,” which left all judges on their feet and Shelton dumbfounded.

“What I’m most impressed with, is this show finally discovered somebody, and beyond me how in the hell has this guy not been discovered before?” Shelton exclaimed. “I literally could not be more excited, more happy, more proud.”

Fellow country singer and trophy-hopeful Josh Gallagher put his best foot forward in the final night of competition when he rocked out with coach Adam Levine on the Santana classic, “Smooth,” which featured dueling guitars and mesmerizing harmonies. Gallagher performed his own biographical track, “Pick Any Small Town,” followed by John Mellencamp’s “Jack and Diane,” a song that Levine said was meant to be sung by him.

Former child country singer Billy Gilman stole the spotlight throughout the evening starting with his cover of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” a tune reflective of Gilman’s life thus far. Him and Levine shared a poppy rendition of “Bye Bye My Love” and finished with a never-before-heard tune, “Because of Me,” a track that was originally penned for Levine’s band Maroon 5.

The competition is fierce but there can only be one winner. Find out who takes home the top prize tonight (Dec. 13) at 8 PM EST on NBC.
