The Voice is back, this season with two new judges Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus. The season premiere on Monday night (Sep. 19) proved to be an entertaining one with so many jokes between the judges and even more talent up on stage.

Cyrus and Blake Shelton were filled with jokes that Adam Levine was almost always at the butt of. Keys’ connected with all of the contestants, bringing them in with her charisma. Beyond being impressed by the vocals that are the premise of this show, fans of The Voice can look forward to a good laugh every night due to the competitive nature found in each of the judges.

If you missed last night’s episode, Sounds Like Nashville has summarized last night’s blind auditions so you won’t have to play catch up the rest of the season. Below is a recap of all the contestants we met last night, along with who they are, what they sang and whose team they ended up on.

Jason Warrior was born and raised in inner city Chicago. He began singing and being active in musical theater to avoid getting caught up in drugs and gang life. He performed “Living for the City,” by Stevie Wonder. He chose to be on Team Alicia.

Dave Moisan is a family man and medical device salesman. He performed “Sex and Candy,” by Marcy’s Playground. All judges turned around for him and despite his passion for singing being found at a Maroon 5 concert, Moisan chose to be on Team Alicia.

Courtey Ramirez is a 17-year-old singer/songwriter from Texas. She performed “Mamma Knows Best,” by Jessie J and she ultimately decided to be on Team Miley.

Sundance Head is the son of a well known Texas country artist, Roy Head. He performed “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long,” by Otis Redding, Despite a plea from Adam Levine, who even invited Head’s kids on stage, Head took his childrens’ advice and chose Team Blake.

Ali Caldwell hails from New York City where she was a part of an R&B girl group. Although she has had success in Russia, Caldwell is looking for American support. She sang “Dangerous Woman,” by Ariana Grande and got a four-chair turn around. She ultimately picked Team Miley.

Riley Elmore is a self-described “Crooner” who takes inspiration from Frank Sinarta. He performed “The Way You Look Tonight” and after dueting with Levine, he chose to be on his team.

Dana Harper is the daughter of NBA veteran Derek Harper. She can’t play basketball, but she can certainly sing. She performed “Jealous” by Nick Jonas and decided on Team Blake.

Gabe Broussard is a 15-year-old musician who has a rare eye disease that will ultimately cause him to become blind. He performed “Lonely Night in Georgia” by Marc Broussard and instantly connected with Shelton and became a part of his team.

Christian Cuervas was the final contestant of the night. He lost his father and tapped into that emotion to perform the song “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You” by Michael Bolton. Shelton and Levine turned around within the first few notes and by the end of it, all four judges did as well. After a tough debate, he chose Team Alicia.

The Voice airs Monday and Tuesday on NBC at 8 PM EST.
