Night two of The Voice blind auditions aired Tuesday evening (Sep. 21) and gave us the opportunity to meet many more cast hopefuls that guaranteed season 11 will be full of excitement and also a tight competition.

Country music has yet to be well represented on the show with only one contestant who has displayed an interest in the genre. Night two followed the same trend, where no country singers took the stage in attempts to win the trophy.

In case you missed it, below are some highlights from last night’s broadcast.

Team Blake Shelton gained two new members, Ethan Tucker and Dan Shafer. Parker is a professional musician who has opened for some greats, such as the Steve Miller Band. He performed a reggae rendition of The Police hit, “Roxanne.”

Shafer is the oldest contestant on the show daring to take the stage at 56-years-old. He performed “Marry Me” by Train. Shelton was the only judge who turned around, but Shafer just seemed happy to be able to move on to the next round.

Another contestant who tried to sing their way into the hearts of the judges was former kid-country star, Billy Gilman. At 10-years-old he had already signed a record deal and at 11 he had his first awards nomination. Due to voice changes at 14 though, he got dropped from his record label. At 28-years-old he is trying to make a comeback and performed “When We Were Young” by Adele. He immediately impressed all the judges and revealed that he once opened for Billy Ray Cyrus, but ultimately decided to join Team Adam.

Miley Cyrus had a few tricks up her sleeve to sway singers to join her team. Cyrus was determined to have Sophia Urista on her side after her rocking rendition of “Come Together” by The Beatles. While Urista was trying to make a choice, Cyrus revealed a video from Dolly Parton that insisted that every contestant should join Cyrus’ team, after all, she is Parton’s Goddaughter.
