As each week passes, The Voice is coming closer to narrowing in on their season 11 winner. During Monday (Nov. 28) night’s live broadcast, 10 performers tried to sing their way into next week’s semifinal round. The pressure is higher than normal this week, with two contestants being eliminated, compared to the normal one.

Every singer brought their A-game to the stage, making the competition neck-to-neck. Members of Blake Shelton’s team each had some of their best performances to date, bringing his hopes up for another win.

Courtney Harrell of Team Blake was his first representation with her rendition of Cher’s “If I Could Turn Back Time.” Clad in all black, she completely rocked her heart out on stage. It was apparent she was having fun as she made her way from corner to corner of the stage, beaming with confidence.

“Even your stage presence and your personality came out like its never came out before,” Shelton praised his team member.

Austin Allsup exposed a softer side during an emotional performance of John Waite’s “Missing You.” Throughout his delivery, he connected with the audience by making them believe what he was singing. Miley Cyrus commented it was her favorite performance of his so far and Shelton agreed.

“Congratulations on taking a classic song and making it your own,” Shelton said. “That’s hard to do.”

Sundance Head was the last of Team Shelton to own the spotlight with Tom T. Hall’s “Me and Jesus.” The bluegrass arrangement made his performance standout as he took the audience to church in the country-gospel-bluegrass hybrid tune.

“We never experienced any kind of performance like that ever in 11 seasons,” Shelton exclaimed.

Nashville was well represented when former child-country star Billy Gilman and contestant Josh Gallagher took on country classics. Gilman gave it all he had as he sang Martina McBride’s “Anyway,” which received high praise from all the judges. Gallagher channeled his inner bad boy for Tim McGraw’s “Real Good Man.” He stomped across the stage, obviously in his element, while entertaining the crowd.

Competition is tight and we get one step closer to the final during tonight’s live elimination episode at 8 PM EST on NBC.
