Emotions and notes ran high during last night’s live broadcast of The Voice as the remaining 11 contestants competed for the chance to keep their trophy dreams alive and continue on to next week’s top 10.

Blake Shelton’s team put their best foot forward, leaving the “A Guy With a Girl” singer confident. His first team member to take the stage, Sundance Head, took a major risk by performing fellow judge Alicia Keys’ original song, “No One.” His rendition featured a countrified tune that included a big finish. Both Shelton and Keys were dancing along and the performance prompted Keys to announce she wishes he was on her own team.

“You just made me listen to my own song in a different way,” Keys proclaimed with a beaming smile.

Courtney Harrell was next up for the country star’s team to perform “What I Did For Love.” She used Whitney Houston as an inspiration to deliver the emotional ballad. She made the song personal, drawing on her past relationship with her child’s father, which resulted in a standing ovation from all of the judges. Shelton noted that this was her best performance to date.

Austin Allsup covered Bob Seger’s “Turn the Page” for his performance. He put all he had into the spotlight and his coach, along with Adam Levine, noticed. Shelton was so excited he let Allsup know that he was on the edge of his seat the whole time.

“There’s nobody doing what you do anymore, anywhere out there,” he praised his team member.

Country singer Josh Gallagher of team Levine interacted with the crowd during his performance of Brett Eldredge’s “Drunk on Your Love.” The judges praised his ability to engage with the crowd and noted that is how he will gain success in the country genre.

Former child country star Billy Gilman is also in the running for the trophy, delivering pitch perfect performances week after week. During Monday night’s episode, he sang Adele’s “All I Ask,” bringing out very real emotions that left him raw and vulnerable on the stage. Per usual, everyone loved it and his coach, Levine, said it was his best performance while on the show.

Another country classic was covered during the broadcast, coming from Team Miley Cyrus’ Ali Caldwell. Cyrus trusted Caldwell to sing her own Godmother Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5”. Caldwell stepped up and showed her diversity in her performance, proving she is much more than just a soul singer. If Parton was watching, we’re sure she would have been proud.

Only one contestant can win and The Voice will come one step closer when they cut one singer during tonight’s live broadcast on NBC at 8 PM EST.
