The Voice has whittled down to the top 12 contestants and on Monday night’s live broadcast they all sang for America’s vote.

Garth Brooks stepped in to act as a mentor and his passion for music was evident in the way he became so involved with each singer while offering his expertise. When performers hit an exceptional note, Brooks danced around the stage in excitement, obviously having a great time.

Sundance Head was Blake Shelton’s first team member to take the stage with a funky version of Maren Morris’ “My Church.” Brooks advised that if he had fun with it, magic would follow up.

“When you’re as talented as Sundance and you’re fighting it with the band, once you relax that’s when the cool stuff happens,” the “Let’s Lay Down and Dance,” singer said.

Head made the track his own by speeding up the tempo and adding Texas-grit. He engaged the crowd and they responded with bursts of energy.

“Vocally I would put you up against anyone in the world, anybody in the world when it comes to putting their heart and soul into performances, you’re what we all strive for,” Shelton commented. “This guy is having a blast with this moment.”

Austin Allsup, a country singer hailing from Texas, was the next Shelton team member to carry the torch when he channeled Aretha Franklin to perform “Do Right Woman, Do Right Man.” He added southern-rock flare while hitting a wide range of notes. Shelton was left impressed noting that his voice is one-of-a-kind among upcoming country singers.

“He’s got no ceiling, his future as much as he wants to write it,” Brooks said of his talent.

Shelton’s last contestant, Courtney Harrell, looked like an angel when she graced the stage clad in all white to sing “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.” Her emotional performance, straight from the heart, was dedicated to her son who recently left for college and was in the audience seeing his mom for the first time since he left.

“What you just did is evidence for me that i made the right choice,” Shelton praised Harrell. “You’re having your moment you earned and you deserve this opportunity.”

Former country child star Billy Gilman earned a standing ovation from the crowd and all four judges when he sang Queen’s “The Show Must Go On.” He took inspiration from Freddie Mercury with his dramatic rock-n-roll performance that left his coach Adam Levine speechless.

Country hopeful Josh Gallagher, a part of Levine’s team, hoped to win America’s vote by covering Jason Aldean’s “Why.” His stripped down version was very emotional as he revealed that between the knockout round and the live show he got married.

The results will be revealed during Tuesday night’s show at 8 PM EST on NBC.
