More than 50 people have been killed and at least 400 victims were injured following a mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas on Sunday, October 1.

Sheriff Joseph Lombardo confirmed the numbers early Monday morning (Oct. 2) and updates continue to roll in as details emerge regarding the tragedy.

Gunfire erupted into the Route 91 Harvest crowd as Jason Aldean headlined the final performance of the weekend. Police responded quickly, locating the suspect on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel overlooking the festival. The police have named local 64-year-old resident Stephen Paddock as the suspect. Paddock was found deceased from a self-inflicted gun shot wound when the SWAT team arrived.

The incident sent shockwaves throughout the country community, causing many to respond with great grief and sorrow for the victims and fellow artists at the festival. Asking for prayers and sending their love to all affected by the shooting, country stars united via social media to think of everyone fighting for their lives at this time.
