Nashville is the place to be for country music in summer, and many of the biggest stars will flock back to their home of Music City to play live at the 2018 CMT Music Awards on June 6.

Always firing up fans right as the season begins and serving as the unofficial kickoff to CMA Music Festival, the CMT Music Awards brings out the best of the best to entertain the masses in Nashville and back at home. This year, they booked artists such as Sam Hunt, Chris Stapleton, Blake Shelton and more to get the party started during the ceremony.

Other acts getting the chance to perform in front of the live audience during the broadcast include Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Bryan and Kelly Clarkson to round things out. Additional performers will be announced closer to the awards show date.

Just weeks ago, CMT brought out the nominations for the 2018 shindig, in which Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line and Jason Aldean tied for the most recognition with four nods each. Another historical moment leading up the show came about when pop stars Bebe Rexha and Justin Timberlake each earned a nomination in the coveted Video of the Year section respectively.

Fans can vote for their favorite videos and artists in the respective categories until June 4. The open groupings eligible to cast a vote in include Video of the Year, Male Video of the Year, Female Video of the Year, Duo Video of the Year, Group Video of the Year, Breakthrough Video of the Year, Collaborative Video of the Year and CMT Performance of the Year.

Little Big Town will host the 2018 CMT Music Awards, which air live from Nashville on Wednesday, June 6, at 8 p.m. EST on CMT.
