Sam Hunt brought the party to Nashville’s Lower Broadway during the 2018 CMT Music Awards when he performed his new single, “Downtown’s Dead.” Fittingly, the singer walked through Nashville’s downtown streets while singing the song as fireworks lit the June 6 evening sky ablaze.

Hunt began his performance seated at the bar at Legends Corner, where his band was performing on the small stage. As he walked out of the venue, a string of fans followed him step by step. While singing the infectious song, Hunt then strolled out to the street and continued his performance by visiting countless other honky tonks on Lower Broadway and attracting more fans along the way.

After a brief trip to Tootsies Orchid Legend and Second Fiddle, Hunt walked through a path of fans on Broadway while singing the song. Shaking hands and giving high-fives to fans along the way, he slowly made his way to the main stage set up outside of Bridgestone Arena to finish “Downtown’s Dead” with his band, who were there waiting for him.

“Downtown’s Dead” was co-written by Hunt with Zach Crowell, Josh Osborne, Shane McAnally and Charlie Handsome. It is his first set of new music since 2017’s 34-week No. 1 hit, “Body Like A Back Road.” Currently, the singer is performing the new song on Luke Bryan’s What Makes You Country Tour – XL Stadium Sized along with openers Jon Pardi and Morgan Wallen.
