It’s a huge day for all those Sam Hunt fans out there because the singer just announced that he would be bringing out a new single for the summer called “Downtown’s Dead.”

After starting fresh with a completely clean Instagram page, Hunt took to the profile to debut its first post with a cover image and a brief announcement simply stating, “New single, tomorrow…’Downtown’s Dead.’” Within just minutes of the picture going live to his socials, many of his followers went wild for the news with comments flooding in about how much they can’t wait for his new sound.

It’s been quite a while since Hunt sent out new music to the fans. His last big single, “Body Like a Back Road,” jumped from the country world into Top 40 radio, and gained millions of streams throughout the summer of 2017. Even that track was a shock to country fans everywhere, as Hunt focused more on his marriage than his music despite the success of his debut record, Montevallo.

Nevertheless, Hunt has remained active in his career with not only the release of a new song, but also the plan to tour all summer long on the What Makes You Country Tour. The singer will join Luke Bryan and friends as they perform in arenas and stadiums, as well as other venues, throughout the next few months.

Hunt’s new single, “Downtown’s Dead,” will premiere on Wednesday, May 16.
