It’s been what feels like years upon years since Sam Hunt graced shelves with a brand new album, but fans will soon be in luck as the country singer hopes to put out something new in the next couple months.

After taking a quick break off to get married and focus on his massive 15 in a 30 Tour over the summer of 2017, Hunt finally got his music life back in order and set his plan on making the next set of tracks in his repertoire. Although he didn’t expose too many details about where his sound is headed, fans can expect to hear the sophomore project when he hits the road with Luke Bryan later this year.

“I finally got my life a lot more organized than it has been in years. Getting married last year helped a lot in that department, and so that’s definitely translated with music. I’ve been writing for a couple years. Had planned on having out music before now, but just with all the other things going on, I hadn’t quite organized it into a compact album version, market version with some of this music. So I do have some songs. I’m going in on February 5 through March and April and I’m hitting it hard before we get out on the road. So I plan on having new music out, a month or two before we strike out and hit the road where I may not have as much time to write,” Hunt revealed to media during the What Makes You Country Tour press conference.

Hunt released his debut record, Montevallo, back in October of 2014. Blowing up all over the charts for pushing the envelope in the traditional country music genre, the singer made himself into a star with hits like “Take Your Time,” “House Party,” “Leave the Night On” and many more.

In early 2017, the Georgia native set “Body Like a Back Road” to both country and Top 40 radio in which he soared up the charts to the No. 1 spot and ruled over stations nationwide. Spawning a cross-country tour based on the unprecedented hit, Hunt spent about half of his professional life touring his act around and promoting the song everywhere he could.

Hunt will hit the road for the stadium dates of the What Makes You Country Tour with Bryan and many others throughout the summer. Fans can find more details on Luke Bryan’s website.
