"I’m in a place in my career and in my life where I’m not willing to give music 100 percent of me anymore," the singer admitted.

It’s bad news for Sam Hunt fans everywhere as the country star is kicking back into cruise mode when it comes to new music.

After the massive response to his hit single, “Body Like a Back Road,” many country fans expected Hunt to follow it up quickly with the release of another track or a full studio album. Hunt threw everyone for a loop, though, when he admitted that music is somewhat on the back-burner in his life at the moment and he doesn’t have any expected dates to send out his sophomore effort.

“I don’t want to come off as…I’m not excited about making music or I’m not very hopeful to have new music for the fans who are anxiously awaiting new music, but, you know, I’m in a place in my career and in my life where I’m not willing to give music 100 percent of me anymore. I did that for four years, and it was fruitful as far as my career goes, but everything else in my life had to be put on hold, and I’m just not willing to do that for years and years at a time,” Hunt revealed to The Boot at a recent concert of his.

Over the past couple years, Hunt hit the big time with the release of his first studio album that produced successful singles such as “Take Your Time,” “Break Up in a Small Town,” “Leave the Night On” and “Make You Miss Me.” Since working on his next step, Hunt’s played it rather coy when it came to where his sound was heading and now fans will have to wait a little big longer to discover the latest from the star.

Hunt has been quite busy regardless of putting his new music on hold for at bit—he married his on-and-off again love, Hannah Lee Fowler, in an intimate ceremony back in his home state of Georgia. While the couple remains rather private about their personal lives, fans can sometimes sneak a peek of Hunt’s lucky lady through spontaneous posts on his Instagram feed.

In the meantime, fans can see Hunt perform their favorites from his debut record, Montevallo, by catching one of his shows on the 15 in a 30 Tour this summer.
