Despite her massive success and worldwide touring, Shania Twain confirmed she’s still just like one of us.

The country icon appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Tuesday night (4/19) to admit her secret fear of being in front of crowds. To both Corden’s and his guests’ surprise, Twain chronicled the fright back to her days as a teenager and let everyone know she never really got over the nervous rush she gets when she’s about to perform in front of a huge audience.

Twain even described one of her worst moments in gross detail as she revealed a past nightmare she went through in high school involving a little bit of pee and a lot of embarrassment.

“When I was a teenager, I got up in front of my peers—a bunch of 16-year-olds in front of the school—and I literally peed myself. I was so nervous. No, it was terrible. I’ve been fighting it ever since,” Twain said.

Thankfully, Twain was thinking on her feet as she disguised the accident with a helpful item that just so happened to be sitting right beside her.

“It was a puddle and when I stood up, it just came out. Thankfully, I had a glass of water at my feet and I knocked it over to hide the puddle. I was so lucky to have that water,” she explained.

Twain is slated to release new music sometime soon.
