Man, Shania Twain feels like not just a woman, but a star as it was just recently announced that the country singer would be awarded with the Artist of a Lifetime Honor at 2016 CMT Artists of the Year.

As the first female recipient of the honor, Twain finds herself in great country company alongside fellow former winners of the award including Kenny Rogers in 2015 and the late Merle Haggard in 2014. The award will be presented by CMT in sponsorship with RAM Trucks.

The 2016 CMT Artists of the Year is an annual event that takes place in the heart of Nashville at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. A gala for all, the event recognizes artists that have made a stellar impact in country music over the past 12 months through album releases, radio play and charted singles.

Other artists expected to be honored during the special night include Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett and Luke Bryan. Country newcomer Kelsea Ballerini will always receive an honor herself by accepting the second annual Artist of the Year Breakout Award.

CMT Artists of the Year will also feature special guest appearances and performances that have yet to be announced at this time. More details about the glamorous night will be released at a further date.

The celebration will air on Thursday, October 20, at 9 p.m. ET from Nashville.
