ABC plans to bring American Idol back with some serious star power! In an exciting announcement, the network revealed a list of 12 superstar acts slated to join the show for a special duets round of the competition.

Among the acts joining the show will be country’s own Sugarland and Cam, who Variety reports will perform with two finalists from the Top 24 each. Additionally, Banners, Aloe Blacc, Bishoop Briggs, Colbie Caillat, Luis Fonsi, Andy Grammer, Lea Michele, Train’s Pat Monahan, Rachel Platten, Bebe Rexha, and Allen Stone have each signed on for the duets portion of the season.

American Idol’s season 10 winner Scotty McCreery will also serve as a mentor on the upcoming season, revealing that he was recently in Los Angeles shooting his episodes.

“It’s exciting,” he explained to Taste of Country Night’s Sam Alex. “I’ve already gone out to L.A. and filmed a mentor session with some of the contestants. The contestants were cool, great voices, and seem like they have great heads on their shoulders. It should be a good year.”

The latest update comes just weeks after the network revealed that The Bobby Bones Show host Bobby Bones will also join the Idol family as a mentor to the Top 24.

“Finally . I get to say something . Im joining American Idol this season. I will be the mentor to all the top 24 contestants. And I appreciate you guys for letting it happen,” Bones captioned his announcement post.

Leading the revival of the reality competition series will be new judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry, with returning host, Ryan Seacrest.

The new season of American Idol premieres Sunday, March 11, at 8 p.m. EST and Monday, March 12, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
