Tara Thompson will take the next step in her career when she releases her Someone to Take Your Place EP. Set for release on June 10, the collection features five songs co-written by the Tennessee native.

The EP was inspired from her life experiences and shows off her Southern twang and feisty lyrics.

“So they’re all based on true stories. They’re all my experiences mixed in with my family’s experiences. You know, we’re hillbillies from East Tennessee, so I have a lot to sing about,” Thompson told Sounds Like Nashville of the upcoming project.

The collection will also include her sassy single “Someone to Take Your Place.” “It’s kinda my lighthearted way of saying, ‘If you get dumped, don’t take it too seriously!’ Go find someone to take his place,” she said of the track.

Thompson will share the songs from her EP with fans when she performs at her first-ever CMA Music Festival at The Park Stage on Saturday, June 11 at 2:30 p.m.
