The teams on season 10 of NBC’s The Voice were cut in half last week leaving the Top 12 to fight for their chance to win the coveted title of “the voice.”

With her future on the line, traditional country singer Mary Sarah sang Carrie Underwood’s “So Small.” “Every week, you just gotta pull out all the stops,” her coach Blake Shelton advised. Fellow coach Adam Levine praised the hopeful for stepping outside of her comfort zone with her song choice. “With a contemporary song now behind you, it’s cool how you do your own thing with it,” he said.

Shelton’s second country act, Adam Wakefield, showed how seasoned of a musician he is when he performed the Allman Brothers Band’s “Soulshine.” His performance earned him a standing ovation from Shelton, Levine and Pharell. “You’re a star, man,” his coach praised.

The final contestant for Team Blake was Paxton Ingram, who was saved by his coach last week. The dynamic performer sang “Hands To Myself” by Selena Gomez and hit the song’s signature high notes with ease. “You’re going to be around for a while. I do believe that,” said Shelton.

Additionally, host Carson Daly revealed that for the first time ever, the season finale will feature original songs from the finalists.
