Country trio The Band Perry made a huge statement when they returned after a break with their empowering new single, “Comeback Kid.” The song has been huge in the development of the next step in their music career and has also become a symbol of hope for their fans.

While chatting with the group at the 10th Annual ACM Honors, they explained that they all felt as if the song brought out loads of support from listeners who used the track as a way to stand up for themselves and feel stronger due to the lyrical content.

“It’s probably one of the most personal songs we’ve ever written, so for us to kinda go out there and bear our hearts has been really amazing. But the stories we’re hearing back are really cool, too,” Reid Perry explained to SLN.

The band also said many of these stories have to do with bullied children who listened to the song on their way to the start of their school year in hopes of encouraging them with their confidence toward facing all of the negative energy.

The Band Perry is currently promoting “Comeback Kid” while out on the road playing shows across the country.
