The Swon Brothers Get ‘Personal’ on ‘Timeless’ EP

Between leaving their record label, starting one of their own, and releasing a brand new EP, it’s been a crazy month for The Swon Brothers, but they are more than excited to have new music out for fans.

Sounds Like Nashville caught up with the duo to talk about the new EP, entitled Timeless, and how they’ve evolved since their 2009 debut album, Another Day.

“We’ve put out music on our own since we were kids it’s cool for us now to listen and see how much we’ve evolved as musicians and writers and singers even,” Zach Swon told us. “You know, some of it, I’m glad there wasn’t iTunes back then, because if it still lived on there, I’d probably be pretty embarrassed. But, you know, it’s who we were at the time.”

One of the best parts of Timeless, according to the brothers, is that they co-wrote each of the six tracks. “We got to write every song on the record this time,” Colton explained. “It’s just fun getting to do what we want to do and not have to answer to anyone but ourselves and people that are listening. This is a lot more real, I think, and you can tell. We got a little more personal with this record.”

The growth seems to have paid off as the duo landed in one of the top spots on iTunes when their EP dropped. “It hit No.2 on the iTunes charts,” Colton said with a grin.
