NBC’s The Voice kicked off its Live Playoff Rounds last night and Blake Shelton’s team brought their A-game for their battle against Christina Aguilera’s team.

Fighting for their spot to continue on for the chance to become the season 10 winner for Team Blake was Mary Sarah, Justin Whisnant, Paxton Ingram, Katie Basden, Joe Maye and Adam Wakefield.

Miama, FL native Paxton Ingram took on Calvin Harris’ “How Deep Is Your Love.” The dance jam even had his coach up attempting to do the “Whip/Nae Nae.” Shelton was convinced Ingram will be moving into the Top 12 easily.

Next up for Shelton’s team was Katie Basden who sang Trisha Yearwood’s “Georgia Rain.” Although she hit some rough notes throughout her song, fellow coach Pharrell was convinced she was doing exactly what she should be doing. “You should be actively pursuing this right now,” he said. Meanwhile, coach Adam Levine was kicking himself for letting her go from his team.

Singing The Doobie Brothers’ “Long Train Runnin” was Joe Maye. Shelton saved the hopeful during the third round of Knockouts and admitted that he has “got a shot to win this thing.”

After Maye, contestant Adam Wakefield stepped up hoping to earn his spot in the Top 12. He chose to perform Willie Nelson’s “Seven Spanish Angels,” which initially worried Shelton. However, the Oklahoma native changed his mind after the live performance saying “You’ve got a hell of a future in front of you, man.” Levine agreed, adding that he appreciated Wakefield getting onstage without showboating.

Next up for Team Blake was traditional country singer Mary Sarah who sang Lynn Anderson’s “(I Never Promised You A) Rose Garden.” She had trouble hitting some of the notes throughout the track, but let her sass carry her live performance. Despite her vocal troubles, Shelton was still a fan.

Closing the night for Blake Shelton’s team was Justin Whisnant, who sang Travis Tritt’s “Here’s A Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares).” Whisnant was sent home by Shelton during the Knockout Rounds for Mary Sarah, but was brought back by the coach as a save.

Team Adam Levine and Team Pharrell face-off Tuesday, April 12 for the second night of Live Playoffs. On Wednesday, April 13, the results will be revealed.
