NBC’s The Voice kicked off last night (4/25) with a somber start as the hit show paid tribute to the late music icon, Prince. After heartfelt comments from coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Pharrell and Christina Aguilera, the competition resumed as the Top 11 hit the stage.

The first member of Shelton’s team to take the spotlight was Paxton Ingram with Tasha Cobbs’ “Break Every Chain.” The singer earned a standing ovation from all four coaches, with Pharrell calling it “an unleashing of power.” “You really hadn’t done anything like that, so I was blown away,” said Levine, while Shelton pointed out that it was the first time Ingram had “opened your heart up to everyone out there.”

The second member of Team Blake to take the stage was Mary Sarah. The traditional country singer covered Heidi Newfield’s “Johnny and June,” convincing Aguilera of her consistency and strength. “This is your moment,” praised her coach.

Last, but not least, for Shelton’s team was powerhouse Adam Wakefield, who sang “Lights” by Journey. Shelton was sure the fans would “worship him.” Pharrell commended his readiness to be a star and said he’s got a “classic voice that sounds like it’s straight out of Southern rock in the ’70s.” “The amazing thing about you is that there is a little bit you he can give, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat… You give it that moment right when it counts,” said Shelton.

Tonight, fans will find out if their favorites will move on to the Top 10. Do you think Blake’s team has what it takes?
