Over the past year, Thomas Rhett has seen his career blow up massively. With a handful of No. 1 singles from his album, Tangled Up, as well as a stellar year on tour throughout the country and abroad, he’s definitely made himself a household name in the U.S. and beyond.

Even industry professionals caught wind of Rhett’s enormous success and recognized him by making him a nominee in the Best Country Song category for the upcoming GRAMMY Awards for his hit, “Die a Happy Man.” With his nomination under his belt and clear view to Music’s Biggest Night, Rhett’s ready to strut that red carpet proudly and be amongst his fellow musicians also being honored throughout the night.

“I almost went to the Grammys last year just to go. My dad ended up going and my manager went and I kind of had FOMO that I didn’t get to go last year.  But this year it’s just nice, I guess, to have somewhat of a purpose at the Grammys,” Rhett said recently. “You know, to be nominated for Country Song along with some of my friends is a huge dream come true. I think as a kid the Grammys are definitely the pinnacle of the award that you want to win. And even if you don’t win you can always tell your grandkids that you were nominated for a Grammy one time.”

The singer/songwriter is also looking forward to being exposed to the wide variety of musical acts and celebrities at the big show.

“Just to be out there in that environment with so many different genres and so many different people that I look up to as role models and as idols, and getting to watch a lot of my favorite people perform, and just being surrounded by that many celebrities from all over the world is a pretty amazing experience to be in,” he shared. “So, my wife and I are so pumped to just to walk the red carpet with all those people, and when we get interviewed we have something to talk about which is nice.  So, very, very honored and humbled to be nominated for my first ever Grammy and that’s a very tough category and so I’m just glad to be in it.”

The “Star of the Show” singer isn’t the only artist who will be representing Nashville at the big show as Little Big Town, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini and Maren Morris will also be attending.

The 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards, hosted by James Corden, will air live from Los Angeles on Sunday, February 12, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
