Fresh off debuting his latest single “Craving You,” Thomas Rhett learned he was taking home the Male Vocalist of the Year award.

Rhett was in utter disbelief when he heard his name being announced as the winner. He hesitantly took the stage with encouragement from his wife Lauren who had tears of joy in her eyes.

“I don’t have a whole lot of words except for everyone in this category are my idols. Everyone in this category shaped the artist I am,” Rhett said while still shaken up about the win. “I try to be the best singer that I can. Thank you so much to the ACMs, this is the most amazing award I’ve ever received in my whole existence, thank you so much. Thank you to the Lord for putting me in this situation to be up here tonight, this is a very humbling experience.”

The country star has been earning this title all year long as he has excited crowds across the country on his current Home Team tour. Male Vocalist of the Year is the second award Rhett took home tonight, following his win in Song of the Year for “Die a Happy Man.”

With a category packed full of deserving artists, Rhett beat out fellow stars like Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban.

The 52nd Annual ACM Awards were hosted by Bentley and Luke Bryan, and celebrated right in the heart of Las Vegas.
