Thomas Rhett Proves the Family That Hikes Together, Stays Together

Thomas Rhett is one of country music’s biggest breakout stars in recent years. With songs flying up the country radio charts and a string of hit albums in quick succession, there’s no denying that the singer is well on his way to super-stardom. And while his career as an artist can often be busy, the singer always carves out plenty of time for his family, including his wife Lauren Akins and daughters Willa and Ada.
Ahead of his recent show in Denver, Colorado, Rhett and his troupe, as well as members of Akins’ family, decided to strap on their boots and take a hike along the scenic Saint Mary’s Glacier. With babies on their backs, the family enjoyed a fun-filled day of nature and fresh air before Rhett put on his showman hat later that night.
The hike, located about an hour outside of Denver, didn’t come without a few hiccups, however, as Akins revealed the crew left with just a few very minor injuries.
“Happy to report with just TR rolling his ankle, Tyler slipping 14 times, Kasey falling twice and Willa Gray falling once we had very minor injuries,” she said with a series of photos posted to Instagram.
While he may have slightly hurt his ankle, Rhett made it back in time to entertain thousands of fans as part of Kenny Chesney’s “Trip Around the Sun Tour.” In addition to his tour with Chesney, Rhett has his own headlining tour, the “Life Changes Tour,” which resumes in Bangor, Maine on September 13. The tour, which features Brett Young, Carly Pearce, Midland, Russell Dickerson and Jillian Jacqueline, will run through October.
